[Tags: Homes, Views of Destruction, Explosives, Urbicide] [Found by: Al Jazeera] [Location: Gaza > Jabalia > North Gaza] [Archivist Notes] Translation: After the violent bombing and massacres and the tight siege against humans, comes the turn of stones. Since the 5th of October and the beginning of the Israeli army's military operation in North Gaza, the earth has not stopped shaking from the explosions caused by the occupation soldiers' detonation of residential buildings and blocks, particularly in the western areas north of the Gaza Strip. Al Jazeera obtained these images after the resistance succeeded in downing an Israeli drone and obtaining the footage its camera took. These images show the first phase of blowing up houses in the Al-Twam area, northwest of Gaza City. The combat engineering units rig the residential buildings. Then, once the soldiers get far from the place, they detonate the buildings. The Gaza government office estimates that the IOF blew up, over a bit more than two weeks, hundreds of houses and residential blocks, especially in the Jabalia, Al-Faluja, Bir al-Naja, Al-Atatra, and Al-Saftawi areas in addition to Al-Twam. This is done in conjuction with the continuation of horrific massacres and targeting civilians, as the number of martyrs since the start of the campaign reached 700, mostly women and children. At the same time, Israel has been systematically targeting the healthcare sector and taking all hospitals out of service, the goal being to destroy the urban mass and make northern Gaza uninhabitable, in line with what is now known as "The Generals' Plan" elaborated by Israel last September to forcibly displace the population and turn the region into a military closed zone. A final solution to eliminate the resistance. This is especially important as Al-Qassam Brigades succeeded lately in carrying out multiple well-planned ambushes against Israeli forces and striking them with painful blows in areas where the army made incursions more than once before. Israel is adopting the most violent and ruthless methods, including the use of explosive barrels containing about one- tonne of highly explosive material, which leave extensive destruction in their wake and level all buildings to the ground. The policy of systematic destruction in northern Gaza is not exceptional among Israel's practices. Its raids caused complete total or partial destruction of around 169,000 buildings across the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.
