[Tags: Homes, Bombs, Mourning, Children, Families, Night massacre] [Found by: Islam Bader | إسلام بدر] [Location: Gaza > Gaza City > Al-Ahli Arab (Baptist) Hospital > North Gaza > Jabalia al-Balad] [Archivist Notes] "*The IOF perpetrated a massacre against the Assaf family in Jabalia al-Balad as it destroyed their multi-story house and did not leave survivors. The remains of the martyrs were brought to the Baptist hospital as torn body parts. A large number of martyrs, including this infant girl, were carried by her relative. Tell me what happened. *The house belonged to the Assaf family and was located in Jabalia al-Balad near the Omari mosque. The house was struck without warning. The house was full of people, and 15 martyrs are under the rubble. These ones are just a few of them. This 3-month-old girl was killed in cold blood. Her mother, father, and sister were also killed. The family has been effectively wiped off the civil registry. This family was not affiliated with any resistance faction. So Israel is bombing civilians, so they leave for southern Gaza. But we will remain steadfast and won't leave until we're taken to heaven. We say to the Zionists, no matter how you bomb and destroy, we will remain steadfast until we meet God as martyrs. This is my sister's. My brothers were martyred in this war, and I am proud that my family was martyred in the cause of Allah. But we want to send a message to the Arab and Muslim nations: What are you waiting for? (Your) innocent children are being killed mercilessly without even a warning because they didn't want to leave north Gaza, which the occupation wants. If you remain silent, your turn will come next, one country after another, and they will do to you what they do to us. I ask the Arab leaders and people to mobilize to fulfill the religious duty of Jihad. Our prophet, peace be upon him, told us to defend any inch of land that's been occupied. Another survivor, who lost his little brother and father, sends a message appealing to God and calling to the Arabs to move. "*Bodies are laid out here and on the other side as well, and families are surrounding their murdered relatives and bidding them farewell following this and other strikes focused on Jabalia al-Balad tonight, while the Israeli continues across northern Gaza. The IOF is committing massacres in an unprecedented manner to force Palestinians to leave Jabalia al-Balad and Jabalia camp and move towards the south, whereas the residents insist on staying in spite of the heavy price they pay."

Since early morning, large forces have stormed Qalandia Camp and Kafr Aqab, spreading throughout the camp and its main street. Storming houses , widespread arrests, and significant destruction inside homes. Qalandiya is an Israeli military checkpoint located between Ramallah and Jerusalem in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is a crucial transit point for Palestinians traveling between the northern and southern parts of the West Bank. Approximately 9,000 vehicles pass through Qalandiya checkpoint daily, highlighting its heavy usage and importance for local commuters. Due to Israeli traffic restrictions, the adjacent road has become an essential route for movement from Ramallah to the southern West Bank. Harassment of Palestinian Workers at Qalandiya checkpoint : Palestinian workers passing through the checkpoint to reach Jerusalem (Al-Quds) were subjected to special harassment and brutal and humiliating treatment by Israeli forces. Fatal Shooting of a Palestinian Child: On October 7, 2024, during an Israeli military incursion into Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab refugee camps in occupied East Jerusalem, 12-year-old Hatem Sami Hisham Ghaith was shot in the abdomen by Israeli forces. In addition to the physical violence and arrests , Israeli forces confiscated dozens of vehicles owned by residents of Qalandiya camp and the neighboring town of Kafr Aqab. Roads around Qalandiya camp and the neighboring town of Kafr Aqab were blocked, further restricting movement and access to essential services for residents. Israeli occupation forces fire tear gas canisters at Palestinian youth during their raid into Qalandiya refugee camp north of occupied Jerusalem. “Who wants to be martyred today?” An armed Israeli soldier was seen mocking and provoking residents of Qalandia camp. The situation remains volatile, with Israeli forces continuing their military presence in the area. Assault on Journalists : During the ongoing military assault on Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab, Israeli forces assaulted journalist Ishaq Al-Khisbah while he was covering the events. Al-Khisbah was severely beaten and had to be hospitalized for treatment. Broader Context of Clashes and Arrests in West Bank : In recent days, Israeli forces have arrested at least 45 Palestinians across various governorates in the occupied West Bank, including Hebron, Jerusalem, Jericho, Bethlehem, Qalqilya, Nablus, and Jenin. The arrests include a journalist, a former prisoner, and dozens of others, adding to the total of over 11,100 Palestinians detained since the war began a year ago. Journalists visit colleague Fadi Al-Wahidi and cheer him up [Original post] Today, I visited Fadi in the hospital. He is able to talk, but his entire body is paralyzed. Just yesterday, he was standing next to me, telling me to be careful, and today he is paralyzed—simply for doing his job. [Tags: Quadcopter, Wounded, Journalism] [Found by: Hossam Shabat] [Location: Gaza > Gaza City > Al-Ahli Arab (Baptist) Hospital] [Archivist Notes] On October 9, in the afternoon, the IDF carried out three separate attacks targeting different journalist teams during their live coverage of the Israeli assault on North Gaza. Abu Sharkh area: Mohammed Al-Tanani murdered & Tamer Lubbad injured Palestinian photojournalist Mohammed Al-Tanani was killed by Israeli snipers while reporting on the Israeli ground invasion of the Jabalia camp. His colleague Tamer Lubbad, also a correspondent for Al-Aqsa TV, was injured. On the same day, the IDF completely closed off all access to and from Jabalia and fired at anyone attempting to leave. Journalists documenting the scenes started referring to the Abu Sharkh roundabout as the "Death Intersection/Roundabout." Al-Tanani’s body was retrieved despite Israeli occupation forces targeting the rescue teams. Palestinian Red Crescent crews transported the casualties to Al-Ahli Hospital. Al-Saftawi: Fadi Al-Wahidi injured and paralyzed Al-Jazeera photojournalist Fadi Al-Wahidi was shot in the neck by an Israeli dronewho chased him and colleagues while they were fleeing the area near Osama Bin Zaid School. The injury made him paraplegic as confirmed by his firend and colleague Anas Al-Sharif "Today, I stand next to Fadi while he is in a coma, after he had been standing in front of me and surrounding me from all sides, so that the picture was conveyed with the utmost professionalism. Today, unfortunately, doctors informed us that Fadi has become permanently paralyzed." Testimony of journalist Islam Badr rushing to evacuate Fadi: "Those were difficult moments. We were in an area that was not sbuject to evacuation orders and far from clashes, wearing our press attire. However, Israelis shot at us directly, twice, to ensure we were hit and unfortunately, they succeeded. The army didn’t stop firing even after Fadi fell. I went back to get him, and unfortunately, he was unconscious."* Islam shared more details in his report Anas al-Sharif and Hossam Shabat, who were also on the scene testified that the group of journalists worked in a safe place, far from any dangerous places and clashes when they were targeted. Hossam Shabat " I took this photo of Fadi moments before he was shot and he was directly targeted. He told me not to take risks and not to advance into the dangerous zone, but Fadi was targeted in the zone which was a thousand meters from danger. It is clear from this that the attacks were aimed at journalists." Testimony of Anas Al-Sharif (Al Jazeera Corespondant) "The doctor told me a short while ago that my brother and beloved Fadi Al-Wahidi's health condition is very serious and he needs urgent surgery. The X-ray image that was just taken showed a rupture in the cervical vertebrae of the spine… …and the operation may also result in hemiplegia that may affect our colleague Fadi, God forbid. Praying for Fadi's safety and recovery. There is no power nor strength save with Allah" Journalist Omar Al-Balaawi murdered at home by a drone Later in the day, Palestinian journalist and English teacher Omar Al-Balaawi was killed by drone fire while he was at the window of his home on Al-Jalaa Street, Gaza City. The educational tent is extremely important in the Refaat Alareer camp [Original post] The educational tent is extremely important in the Refaat Alareer camp. With 23 kids over the age of 5 years old who have severe learning and mental disabilities, we are working closely with two teachers to provide them tailored care. Speech therapy and art therapy will be our methods to support the kids as many are stuttering, drooling, not speaking and showing more symptoms of stress. We will also give the teachers training on how to deal with children with disability in learning, and hoping then we can train more teachers and extend these services beyond the camp. Civil Defense urgent appeal to save Jabalia [Original post] تغطية صحفية: مجازر وحشية وعــدوان متواصل.. واقع مخيم جباليا شمال قطاع غزة، في ظل استمرار الحصار وقصف الاحتلال. [Tags: Living conditions, Appeals] [Found by: Quds News Network] [Location: Jabalia] [Archivist Notes] Jabalia suffers an Israeli military operation for the 6th consecutive day. Civil Defense crews have been working since the start of this operation to rescue civilians, recover martyrs, or retrieve to the best of our ability people from under the rubble of the houses destroyed by the IOF. We receive dozens of SOSs around the clock informing us that there are martyrs and injured in houses struck by the IOF. However, we regrettably cannot respond to those SOSs. Either the casualties are in a red zone where Israeli vehicles are present, or the buildings have been completely destroyed, making it difficult for us to pull out people from the rubble due to the lack of equipment and heavy machinery. Given this difficult catastrophic situation in Jabalia, which has been subject to a complete siege for 6 days without anyone being able to enter or leave, families are suffering. Over 200,000 citizens present in northern Gaza face death, along with the Civil Defense crews and healthcare workers. In our last call with our crews over there, they told us they did not eat anything since yesterday and have no food or drink at their disposal, just like all civilians there. And the Israeli occupation maintains its siege. Given this difficult situation, we call on international organizations and institutions to urgently intervene to save the lives of civilians in Jabalia and the healthcare workers and Civil Defense crews, who are doing their best with what little resources at their disposal to continue to serve the residents of Jabalia.
