[Tags: Humiliation, Caterpillar D9, Machine Gun, Raid, Living conditions, Terror, Property, Armored vehicle, Siege] [Found by: West Bank Observer] [Location: West Bank > East Jerusalem > Qalandia RC] [Archivist Notes] On Monday October 7, for the Annniversary of the ongoing war, Israeli soldiers invaded the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank, fatally shot a Palestinian child, shot seven Palestinians, including three children, and abducted twenty citizens. Since early morning, large forces have stormed Qalandia Camp and Kafr Aqab, spreading throughout the camp and its main street. Storming houses , widespread arrests, and significant destruction inside homes. Qalandiya is an Israeli military checkpoint located between Ramallah and Jerusalem in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is a crucial transit point for Palestinians traveling between the northern and southern parts of the West Bank. Approximately 9,000 vehicles pass through Qalandiya checkpoint daily, highlighting its heavy usage and importance for local commuters. Due to Israeli traffic restrictions, the adjacent road has become an essential route for movement from Ramallah to the southern West Bank. Harassment of Palestinian Workers at Qalandiya checkpoint : Palestinian workers passing through the checkpoint to reach Jerusalem (Al-Quds) were subjected to special harassment and brutal and humiliating treatment by Israeli forces. Fatal Shooting of a Palestinian Child: On October 7, 2024, during an Israeli military incursion into Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab refugee camps in occupied East Jerusalem, 12-year-old Hatem Sami Hisham Ghaith was shot in the abdomen by Israeli forces. The child was transported to the Palestine Medical Complex, where he succumbed to his injuries due to severe bleeding and intestinal damage, as confirmed by the Palestinian Health Ministry. Widespread Injuries and Casualties: During the same raid, Israeli forces used live ammunition, injuring seven other Palestinians, including three children. One individual remains in critical condition after being shot in the head. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported treating the injured, most of whom suffered from live bullet wounds, while one individual was struck in the head by a rubber-coated steel bullet. 9 injuries were treated by Red Crescent crews from Qalandia Camp and Kafr Aqab near Jerusalem. 8 of the injuries were from live bullets, and one person was martyred after being killed by a rubber bullet in the head. Violent Raids and Arrests: The occupation forces besiege all entrances to Qalandia camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, and deploy snipers on the outskirts of Al-Mukhayth. Israeli soldiers raided dozens of homes in Qalandiya camp, causing damage and arresting at least 20 Palestinians, including siblings and former political prisoners. In addition to the physical violence and arrests , Israeli forces confiscated dozens of vehicles owned by residents of Qalandiya camp and the neighboring town of Kafr Aqab. The Israeli forces were seen confiscated a luxury vehicle belonging to a resident during the raid. Some sources say it was an Israelien stolen vehicle (yellow imatriculation) -Violent confrontations have erupted in the alleys of Qalandiya camp and neighboring towns, resulting in injuries and fatalities, including the death of Hatem Ghaith. The Israeli forces were seen shooting towards civilian homes after being stoned. Roads around Qalandiya camp and the neighboring town of Kafr Aqab were blocked, further restricting movement and access to essential services for residents. Israeli occupation forces fire tear gas canisters at Palestinian youth during their raid into Qalandiya refugee camp north of occupied Jerusalem. “Who wants to be martyred today?” An armed Israeli soldier was seen mocking and provoking residents of Qalandia camp. The situation remains volatile, with Israeli forces continuing their military presence in the area. Assault on Journalists : During the ongoing military assault on Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab, Israeli forces assaulted journalist Ishaq Al-Khisbah while he was covering the events. Al-Khisbah was severely beaten and had to be hospitalized for treatment. Broader Context of Clashes and Arrests in West Bank : In recent days, Israeli forces have arrested at least 45 Palestinians across various governorates in the occupied West Bank, including Hebron, Jerusalem, Jericho, Bethlehem, Qalqilya, Nablus, and Jenin. The arrests include a journalist, a former prisoner, and dozens of others, adding to the total of over 11,100 Palestinians detained since the war began a year ago. The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirm that Israeli forces not only target individuals but also threaten detainees and their families during these operations. Israel keeps destroying and Palestinians keep rebuilding [Original post] Dr. Laith Sebe'aneh explains how he is working to repair the heavily damaged al-Faris building in the Jabariyat area in Jenin, West Bank, Palestine. He describes the destruction as horrific and notes the tragic reality of the situation. [Tags: Roads, Raid, Water, Blocking Ambulances, Blocking Aid, Rebuilding, Starvation, Living conditions, Infrastructure, Unlawful detention, Terror, Dehydration, Healthcare System, Sumud, Siege] [Found by: Eye on Palestine, Raya Orouq] [Location: West Bank > Jenin] [Archivist Notes] Jenin Siege during "Operation Summer Camp": Launched on Aug. 28, 2024, by Israel, it is the largest military invasion in the northern West Bank in over two decades. The operation focuses on Jenin, with simultaneous actions in other cities like Tubas, Nablus, Ramallah, and Tulkarem. Israel justifies the operation as a fight against Palestinian resistance groups like the Jenin Brigades. Civilian Infrastructure Destroyed: Israeli forces heavily damaged civilian infrastructure in Jenin refugee camp, described as a form of collective punishment.Bulldozers and armored vehicles destroyed homes, streets, and markets. 70% of camp streets and surrounding areas were bulldozed. The refugee camp has been turned into a battlefield, forcing residents to stay indoors. Siege on Jenin: The siege blocked access to essential resources like water, food, and medicine. Civilians, including children, the elderly, and the chronically ill, have been trapped inside without help. Some women and children managed to escape at gunpoint, while men and boys were detained. Mass Arrests and Human Rights Violations: Israeli forces carried out mass arrests of men and boys, including 72-year-old Khayriyeh Khrayneh’s family members. Her husband (a diabetic) and eldest son (a cancer patient) were arrested despite needing medical care. Eyewitnesses described brutal tactics: Palestinian detainees were used as human shields, and attack dogs were unleashed on families. Journalists and media correspondants are systematically threatened by Israeli vehicles or reckless shooting. Blocking Medical Access: Ambulances were denied entry to the camp, and paramedics were shot at, preventing the retrieval of bodies. The main hospital in Jenin was put under lockdown by Israeli Border Police, turning the surrounding area into a "closed military zone." Even when ambulances were allowed through, they were stopped, and patients were forced to show ID before being admitted. Deaths and Casualties: At least 19 Palestinians were killed in Jenin during the siege, including minors. An 83-year-old man, Tawfiq Qandeel, was shot by Israeli forces and left to die without medical help. His body was later run over by military vehicles. Three Palestinian children were killed when their vespa was bombed while delivering bread to the residents of Jenin. Since October 2023, nearly 700 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, with 185 in Jenin alone. Brutality of Military Tactics: The operation in Jenin involved anti-tank rifle grenades destroying civilian infrastructure, sporadic gunfire, and drones flying overhead (likely for surveillance or attacks). Civilians described widespread fear and destruction, with Israeli soldiers using homes as military outposts and placing snipers on rooftops. Worsening Humanitarian Crisis: The Israeli military siege left Jenin and nearby cities under curfew, with road closures and checkpoints stifling movement for both residents and journalists. Palestinians were unable to access basic necessities like flour and baby food due to the complete lockdown of the city. Medical staff, such as nurses, reported being unable to go home for days due to the danger posed by the military operation. Israeli Justification: Israeli military leadership stated their intention to target Palestinian armed resistance, stating they would move "from city to city, refugee camp to refugee camp." But despite their claims of targeting militants, the majority of the casualties were civilians, deepening resentment among the Palestinian population and increasing support for resistance groups. Collective Punishment and Civilian Displacement: Civilians in Jenin reported feeling that the military operations were designed to push them out of their homes . Jenin’s residents are increasingly describing the siege as an effort to depopulate the area . Residents drew comparisons between the treatment of Jenin and Gaza, seeing the same tactics of displacement and destruction being used in both regions. Source :

[Tags: Settlement, Soldiers and Settlers, Raid, Sniper Rifle, Murder, Agriculture, Living conditions, Terror, Property, Freedom of expression, Land theft, Activists] [Found by: Suppressed News.] [Location: West Bank > Nablus > Beita] [Archivist Notes] Assassination of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi , an American and Turkish dual citizen, arrived in the West Bank on 3 September 2024 to engage in activism work with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) as part of a campaign to protect Palestinian farmers sources told Al Jazeera. The incident occurred in the town of Beita, near Nablus in the occupied West Bank , during the town’s weekly anti-settlement march. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. On 6 September 2024, Eygi attended a protest in Beita, near the Israel settlement of Evyatar. The protest, which is held weekly, calls for the end of settlement expansion in the West Bank. According to witnesses, Eygi was shot by Israeli Army soldiers during the protest. An Israeli witness from the group Defend Palestine said the shooting occured following a communal prayer held by both Palestinian and non-Palestinian activists. Israeli soldiers "surrounded" the protesters, leading to confrontations between the two groups. The protesters began throwing stones, while the soldiers began using tear gas and firing live ammunition; in response, the protesters retreated from the area. According to witnesses, about 30 minutes after the confrontations had ended, while all was quiet, two soldiers on a roof about 200 yards away shot into the crowd of protesters. Witnesses reported hearing two shots; one hit an 18-year-old Palestinian protester in the leg, **while the other hit Eygi in the head. ** Eygi was brought to** Rafidia Hospital in Nablus**, where she was confirmed dead. The director of the hospital, Dr. Fouad Naffa, as well as another doctor who administered first aid, Ward Basalat, confirmed to media that Eygi had been shot in the head. Eygi is the third ISM volunteer killed by the Israeli forces in Palestine. Rachel Corrie was killed in Gaza’s Rafah in 2003 and Tom Hurndall was also killed in Gaza in 2004. Context : The Nablus Governorate is an administrative district of Palestine located in the Central Highlands of the West Bank, 53 km north of Jerusalem. Victim Bana Amjad Bakr Laboum, a 12-year-old Palestinian girl , was killed by Israeli settlers during a violent pogrom in the village of Qariout, southeast of Nablus. Incident : Bana was shot by a sniper while standing on the balcony of her home, struck directly in the heart, as her father, Amjad, mourned her tragic loss. Father’s Grief The father of 12-year-old Bana Baker is mourning his daughter, who was shot and killed in their home in the town of Qariout, southeast of Nablus. A few days ago, Bana had prepared her school uniform with her mother and bought a new bag. She was eagerly anticipating returning to school on Monday. However, instead of welcoming her home after school on Monday, her father bid his final farewell to her in the hospital morgue on Friday evening. Father Amjad had prepared his daughter for school; he was filled with excitement. …But my daughter was shot by a sniper. She was on the balcony of our house, struck directly in the heart. My daughter is no more important than those who died in Gaza or Jenin. They are all the children of Palestine. The fate of the Palestinians is our fate.Bana had eagerly prepared for her return to school after the summer break, anticipating her first day as a ninth-grader. Her father, who had shared her excitement, instead said his final goodbye in a hospital morgue. Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Response : The Ministry condemned the "execution" of Bana Baker, citing it as part of a broader pattern of violence against Palestinian civilians, especially children, by Israeli forces and settlers. Call for International Protection : The MFA urged the international community to enforce international law, provide protection for Palestinians, and impose sanctions on illegal Israeli settlements, as violence against Palestinians escalates under the protection of the Israeli military. Settler Violence : The incident occurred amidst increasing violence by Israeli settlers in areas like Qariout, Abu Falah, Deir Dibwan, Masafer Yatta, and the Jordan Valley, with the support of Israeli military and political leadership

After displacing most of the population of the Jenin refugee camp, Israeli occupation soldiers celebrate as the ongoing offensive [Original post] After displacing most of the population of the Jenin refugee camp, Israeli occupation soldiers celebrate as the ongoing offensive in the northern West Bank continues for the ninth day in a row. [Tags: Joke, Roads, Raid, Water, Blocking Ambulances, Forced Displacement, Blocking Aid, Starvation, Living conditions, Infrastructure, Unlawful detention, Terror, Dehydration, Healthcare System, Siege] [Found by: Quds News Network] [Location: West Bank > Jenin] [Archivist Notes] Jenin Siege during "Operation Summer Camp": Launched on Aug. Source :

[Tags: Guns, Caterpillar D9, Raid, Murder, Mutilating Bodies, Living conditions, Terror, Desecration, Human Dignity, Children] [Found by: Gaza Notifications, @pchrgaza] [Location: West Bank > Tubas > Al Far'a RC] [Archivist Notes] From the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights: Tubas , according to eyewitnesses and PCHR’s field documentation of killing and mutilating the boy’s body, at approximately 00:45 on Thursday, 05 September 2024, IOF, accompanied by bulldozers and drones, move into Al-Far’a refugee camp , south of Tubas. Several residents then gathered and threw stones at the Israeli vehicles while the soldiers opened fire on them. An hour later, soldiers shot a boy in the western neighborhood of the camp, who appeared to be taking out something from his pocket. They shot him in the leg and then a soldier ordered him to take off his shirt and he obeyed. And when the soldier ordered him take off his pants, the boy tried but couldn’t. Immediately, the soldiers fired two bullets that hit his neck and chest, causing him to collapse. He was left to bleed for approximately an hour and a half, as the soldiers denied medics from reaching him to provide aid or even retrieve his body. At around 2:30, IOF brought in a bulldozer and began desecrating the boy’s body, tearing open his abdomen and exposing his internal organs before dragging and throwing him on al-Far’a hill along Nablus-Tubas Road and opposite al-Far’a Valley. After IOF’s withdrawal at 06:45, the boy’s body, disfigured and unrecognizable, was retrieved and transported to the Tubas Turkish Public Hospital. The boy was later identified as Majed Fida Abu Zina (17), a resident of the Camp. Source From the Defense for Children International Palestine On September 5, 2024, Israeli forces shot and killed 16-year-old Majed Feda Abdulqader Abu Zeina in Al-Far’a refugee camp, south of Tubas in the northern occupied West Bank. Majed was shot in the leg at a distance of 30 meters (98 feet) around 1:45 a.m. Israeli soldiers blocked a Palestinian ambulance from reaching Majed, despite his pleas for help. After discovering a homemade explosive device on Majed, a soldier fatally shot him in the neck at point-blank range. Desecration of Body: An Israeli bulldozer later picked up Majed’s body and drove around the camp for an hour before dumping it in a southern area. His body remained on the ground until around 7 a.m. when it was transported to a hospital. Medical Report: Majed sustained three gunshot wounds to one leg and a fatal wound to the neck. His body had additional open wounds from the bulldozer’s treatment. Israeli Military Operation: Israeli forces entered Al-Far’a camp around 12:20 a.m. on September 5, deploying snipers and bulldozers, which destroyed roads, shops, and homes. This was part of a larger military incursion, “Operation Summer Camps,” targeting refugee camps in the northern West Bank. Legal Violations: The desecration of Majed’s body violates international humanitarian and human rights laws, which prohibit cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment and mandate respectful burial of the deceased. Wider Context: In 2024, Israeli forces and settlers have killed 76 Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank, according to Defense for Children International - Palestine (DCIP). Since October 7, 2024, 157 Palestinian children have been killed amid a full-scale military offensive. In 2023, 121 Palestinian children were killed by Israeli forces and settlers, many through live ammunition or airstrikes. International Law: Lethal force under international law is only justified in cases of direct threat to life or serious injury. Evidence suggests Israeli forces often use lethal force in situations that may qualify as extrajudicial killings.

Source :
