[Tags: Vehicles, Grenade, Raid, Forced Displacement, Living conditions, Urbicide, Terror, Drone strike] [Found by: @translatingpal] [Location: West Bank > Jenin] [Archivist Notes] On January 24 , the fourth day of the Israeli assault (Iron Wall), following a violent incursion, 12 summary executions and 40 injuries, a demolition campaign began in Jenin, while quad-drone speakers forced the displacement of the Jenin population. Vehicles, shops, and many houses were subjected to demolition by excavators (D9), arson, or artillery shelling. On January 27 , after four days of intensive demolition, estimates indicate that approximately 100 homes have been destroyed and torched in the refugee camp, as the systematic devastation of its infrastructure continues unabated. They used demolitions, explosions, and arson attacks on homes. Areas such as al-Aloub, al-Falouja, al-Bashar and al-Dammaj were among those most heavily impacted, with clouds of smoke rising into the sky and continuous explosions heard throughout the camp. On February 2 , in the eastern part of Jenin camp, Israel blew up simultaneously 23 buildings in Jenin after booby-trapping them, which caused damage to some sections of Jenin Governmental Hospital. Several videos, including one released by the Israeli military, showed massive mushroom clouds erupting across the city simultaneously. The military claims they were the homes of 'terrorists,' but according to residents' testimonies, Israeli forces threatened all the neighborhood's residents with death if they did not leave their homes immediately. Then, they detonated 23 houses, each sheltering multiple families in residential blocks, including the Damaj neighborhood, Mahyoub Street, Al-Hawashin neighborhood, and behind the Al-Aseer Mosque. The occupation forces notified the family of the family of Palestinian youth Qusay Al-Saadi that their house in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin city, which consists of 3 floors, would be bombed if his son Qusay did not surrender, claiming that he was wanted by the occupation authorities. The Isreali continue to send reinforcements to the city of Jenin camp from the Jalameh military checkpoint, while its bulldozers continue to destroy homes in Al-Damj neighborhood. Jenin Mayor Mohammad Jarar said that about 15,000 people were displaced from Jenin camp and Al-Hadaf neighborhood, and were distributed in 39 local community bodies in Jenin governorate and its towns Unofficial evacuation orders Several reports describe forced displacement during the Israeli assault in Jenin. According to local residents, Israeli forces used loudspeakers on drones and military vehicles to order residents to evacuate the Jenin refugee camp. Many people, including those in the nearby Jouret al-Dhahab neighborhood, were forced to leave their homes. The Israeli military reportedly warned the residents to leave before bombings would begin. In addition, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported helping almost 650 people who had fled the camp and surrounding areas. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) denied issuing an evacuation order for Jenin. In a briefing, Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, an IDF spokesperson, stated that "there is no evacuation order in Jenin. There is no plan to issue an evacuation order in Jenin. If you hear that, you should know it is fake news." Despite this, reports from residents and humanitarian organizations suggest that Israeli forces did indeed encourage or force people to leave the camp, including using loudspeakers to give evacuation instructions. Context: Israeli Minister Katz stated that the Jenin assault marked a shift in the military’s security strategy in the West Bank and was “the first lesson from the method of repeated raids in Gaza.” The military has claimed it refined its urban warfare tactics based on its offensive in Gaza. According to Haaretz military reporter @yanivkub "[IDF] operation "Iron Wall" [in Jenin, occupied West Bank - jz] could have been named "Wag the Dog." It is a full-scale public relations operation. Its purpose is to preserve the ruling Netanyahu coalition at the expense of the lives of our soldiers." Gaza is a transformative moment in numerous ways. It has generated an unprecedented decline in Israeli public faith and trust in the military and civilian authorities that make critical security policy decisions. The Chief of Staff has just resigned in disgrace. Calls for Netanyahu's resignation are ongoing, and his hold on power appears shaken.

Gleefull and genocidal detonation of displaced Lebanese homes in Meiss Ej Jabal [Original post] Israeli soldiers from the 7086th Combat Engineer Battalion "Alon" documented the detonation of displaced Lebanese homes in the village of Meiss Ej Jabal in southern Lebanon. [Tags: Homes, Gleeful Destruction, Explosives, Forced Displacement, Living conditions, Infrastructure, Urbicide, Song, Ethnic Cleansing, 7086th Combat Engineer Battalion] [Found by: Israel Genocide Tracker] [Location: Lebanon > South Lebanon > Mays al-Jabal] [Archivist Notes] On November 5, 2024, Israel had already completely destroyed between 29 and 37 Lebanese border villages. These villages was razed by shelling or explosion, with the historical treasures that were there whose inhabitants are now refugees in their own country. These 37 villages have been wiped out across a 120 km stretch from Naqoura to Shebaa. This systematic urbicide creating a no-life zone in South Lebanon. The Israeli army has been booby-trapping and destroying entire neighborhoods in cities and towns in south Lebanon, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported on November 5. Entire streets and neighborhoods in 37 towns have been wiped out and homes have been destroyed. “More than 40,000 residential units have been completely destroyed. This is happening in an area three kilometers deep (from the border) that extends from Naqoura to the outskirts of Khiam” Reasons of this destruction campaign Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah infrastructure near the frontier in a bid to push the Iran-backed group away from the border and allow for its residents to return to northern Israel. However, local officials in Lebanon allege that Israel is pursuing a "systematic destruction" campaign. Lebanon’s National News Agency and its Human Rights Commission have condemned Israel’s actions, with the Commission labeling the destruction in at least eight villages as a "war crime." These claims are supported by satellite images and footage, reportedly showing systematic demolitions by Israeli forces since the cross-border hostilities renewed in late 2023. The demolitions clearing Israel’s ‘first belt’ in Lebanon. Satellite & video analysis shows damage in 30 villages within 3km of the border. At least 12 have had lines of buildings destroyed in controlled detonations. This contributes both to a scorched earth policy but also to a buffer zone for tactical purposes. However, the precedent of urbicide committed in Gaza, and the indiscriminate destruction of archaeological, religious or cultural treasures, suggests a logic of ethnic cleansing. “There are two reasons Israel is using this detonations strategy,” said retired Lebanese armed forces general Akram Kamal Srawi . The first is to clear lines of sight for potential incursions deeper into Lebanon in an area where Hizbollah maintains the upper hand and has caused significant losses for Israel. The second is that Israel has adopted a scorched earth strategy in order to wage psychological warfare on Hizbollah’s base people by televising these detonations and weaken support for the group — which will never work,” he added Sources : New satellite imagery analysis shows that in a 3-sq-mile area of southern Lebanon, covering Blida, Mhaibib, and southern Meiss el-Jabal, at least 296 buildings have recently been flattened; majority confirmed destroyed by Israeli military. This is a very conservative estimate. The detroyed villages (Ongoing documentation) Mais al-Jabal : After the blowing up of the village by Israeli army, around 70% of Mais al-Jabal is reported to be destroyed, with numerous detonations causing extensive structural damage across the village. Homes were reduced to dust, and large blasts occurred near a vacated hospital. Four elderly residents, aged between 85 and 90, are reportedly trapped in the village, awaiting rescue due to the ongoing instability and destruction. The village’s mayor, Abdul-Monhem Choukair, has accused Israeli forces of conducting a campaign of "systematic destruction," describing the destruction as deliberate. White Phosphorus Tracker (@Phosphor_Abyad) have verified and geolocated 25 White Phosphorus attacks over Meis Al Jabal, over the past year, making it the village most impacted by Israel’s deployment of WP in South Lebanon. Baalbek #Minister_of_Culture Sends New Appeal to UNESCO Director-General Regarding Israeli Aggression on People, Heritage, and Historical Sites Subject: Urgent Appeal for the Protection of Lebanese Cultural Heritage Following Recent Destruction Near the Baalbek Site "Dear Ms. Audrey Azoulay, I write to you today with profound sadness, anger, and concern on behalf of the Lebanese Republic, government, and people, following a serious attack on our esteemed cultural heritage this evening. The Israeli aggression targeted the historic “Manshiyah” building in Baalbek, dating back to the Ottoman era and located near the Baalbek Fortress, causing severe damage in the recent attacks. This building held centuries of history and culture, standing as a living testament to our shared cultural heritage. The loss of this unique landmark, adjacent to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an irreparable loss, not only for Lebanon but for all of humanity’s heritage. The Manshiyah was an architectural and historical icon, embodying a living heritage for generations. Its destruction under the current circumstances is a profound loss to us all. We once again call on UNESCO to intervene urgently to protect the remaining heritage sites in Baalbek and the entirety of Lebanese cultural heritage, which faces escalating threats today. While Lebanon remains committed to international agreements, it urgently needs UNESCO’s active intervention to preserve its historical legacy amid the current circumstances. We hope that this message will receive your attention and immediate intervention and that we may work together to protect our precious cultural landmarks. Sincerely, Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada Minister of Culture"

These claims are supported by satellite images and footage, reportedly showing systematic demolitions by Israeli forces since the cross-border hostilities renewed in late 2023. Israeli drone speakers forced residents of Jenin to leave their houses before they were destroyed [Original post] Israeli drones are warning residents around the Jenin refugee camp about the occupation forces’ intention to blow up a building at the edge of the camp. [Tags: Speaker, Raid, Forced Displacement, Living conditions, Urbicide, Terror] [Found by: Eye on Palestine] [Location: West Bank > Jenin] [Archivist Notes] On January 24 , the fourth day of the Israeli assault (Iron Wall), following a violent incursion, 12 summary executions and 40 injuries, a demolition campaign began in Jenin, while quad-drone speakers forced the displacement of the Jenin population.

Israeli soldier Saar Hirshoren footage of his war crimes in Gaza [Tags: Homes, Gleeful Destruction, Explosives, Genocidal Intent, Living conditions, Urbicide, 749th Combat Engineering Battalion] [Found by: Israel Genocide Tracker] [Location: Gaza] [Archivist Notes] On December 24, "The Hind Rajab Foundation has initiated legal actions in Argentina and Chile against Saar Hirshoren, a member of Israel's 749 Combat Engineering Battalion who is currently present there. Mr. Hirshoren is accountable for war crimes committed in Gaza, the HRF is demanding his immediate arrest. Simultaneously, a comprehensive complaint has been filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) targeting the entire battalion and its leadership for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. Evidence Against the 749 Battalion The legal actions in Argentina, Chile, and the ICC are supported by extensive evidence, including: Social media posts and videos from battalion members showing the destruction of civilian homes, schools, and hospitals. Public admissions by battalion leaders indicating their intent to target civilians and infrastructure. Satellite imagery and reports from international organizations documenting the scale of the destruction caused by the battalion. One particularly egregious incident involved the bombing of Al-Azhar University in December 2023, where operational officer David Zoldan mocked Gaza’s higher education in videos celebrating the attack. Call for Accountability The Hind Rajab Foundation demands the immediate arrest of Saar Hirshoren by authorities in Argentina and Chile, emphasizing the urgency of preventing him from evading justice. Concurrently, the Foundation calls on the ICC to expedite its investigation into the 749 Combat Engineering Battalion and issue arrest warrants for its members. These actions are necessary to uphold international law and hold perpetrators accountable for their crimes in Gaza. These cases highlight the urgent need for international cooperation to ensure that those responsible for heinous crimes face accountability. The Foundation urges the global community to support these efforts and reaffirm the principles of international justice and the rule of law." Read more on Hind Rajab Fundation

Thick mushrooms of smoke rose into the sky, testifying to the intensity of the explosions. Since Israel launched a ground operation in late September in southern Lebanon, numerous images taken by its army from the air have shown similar scenes in several border villages, including Mheibib, near Meiss el-Jabal. Israel says it wants to neutralize pro-Iranian Hezbollah in the sector, against which it has been at open war for more than a month, and move it away from the border, in order to allow the return of northern residents who have fled its incessant fire. for a year. Hezbollah, for its part, accuses the Israeli army of pursuing "a scorched earth policy" and of wanting to create a "no man's land" on the border. Video from Meiss el-Jabal shows huge explosions near a hospital, which was evacuated according to Mayor Abdel-Moneem Choukair. “70% of Meiss el-Jabal is destroyed,” he told AFP, even though the locality has some 1,200 houses. He said that the village had been deserted by its inhabitants but that four people, aged 85 to 90, were still stuck there waiting to be rescued by the Red Cross and the Lebanese army. Sources :

It didn’t begin on October 7th : Jenin 2002 [Original post] It didn’t begin on October 7th As the world watches in horror at Israel’s largest invasion of the West Bank since 2002, here’s a clip from the Documentary ‘Jenin, Jenin’ made in 2002, showing the horrors of Israel’s onslaught on Jenin over 20 years ago [Tags: Homes, Roads, Raid, Bombs, Palestine Voices, Living conditions, Infrastructure, Terror, Sumud, Drone strike, Artillery shelling, Siege] [Found by: GUndergound] [Location: West Bank > Jenin] [Archivist Notes] "Jénine, Jénine" is a 2002 documentary film by Palestinian actor and filmmaker Mohammed Bakri, depicting the aftermath of the 2002 Israeli military incursion into the Jenin refugee camp during "Operation Defensive Shield." The film presents Palestinian testimonies, portraying what Bakri calls the "Palestinian truth" about the event, which some claimed involved a massacre. However, investigations by organizations like Human Rights Watch found no evidence of mass killings but noted violations of international law by Israeli forces. The film faced significant controversy, being banned in Israel for allegedly being defamatory. Bakri fought the ban, with the Israeli Supreme Court ruling in his favor, defending freedom of expression. However, lawsuits followed, with Israeli soldiers accusing the film of defamation. One lawsuit in 2021 led to the reinstatement of the film's ban and financial penalties against Bakri. Despite its legal challenges, Jénine, Jénine won awards and is considered significant in Palestinian cinema for highlighting Palestinian perspectives often absent from mainstream media. The film depicts the aftermath of the 2002 assault and siege of Jenin by Israeli forces, drawing parallels to the identical atrocities committed 22 years later during Operation Summer Camps from August 28 to September 4, 2024 in Jenin.

Dozens of police officers broke into a house in the city and brutally attacked three young men in their 20s, along with an elderly woman who attempted to film the assault. The incident began when the young men called the police to report a car blocking the entrance to their home. Shortly afterward, plainclothes officers arrived from the nearby "Golden Crown" hotel, as the blocking car was apparently owned by one of them. But instead of providing assistance, they responded with a police lynching. The officers broke into the house and beat the young men mercilessly, leaving their faces badly bruised and hard to recognize. Two of the men were taken to Rambam Hospital for medical treatment. The process of "Ben-Gvirization" of the police has been completed."
